Nickel Alloy / Monel 400 and, UNS N04400, is a ductile, nickel-copper-based alloy comprised essentially of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Monel / Alloy 400 is a cold-worked alloy that has high hardness, stiffness, and high strength. At ambient temperature, the alloy is slightly magnetic. Alloy 400 W.nr 2.4068 exhibits properties such as resistance to seawater and steam even at elevated temperatures, also resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalies (or acid-like substances), saltwater, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid.
